Sneak Harvest
UPDATED: 11.06.2026
Sneak Harvest enhances your Minecraft Bedrock experience by allowing you to harvest entire trees, ore veins, leaf clusters, and crops with a single crouch and tool action. This feature respects all vanilla mechanics including enchantments like Fortune and Silk Touch, and it even supports automatic replanting where applicable.
Installation
- Download the
.mcpackfile and open it to import into Minecraft. - Enable the behavior pack within your world settings.
No additional experimental features are required, and achievements remain fully enabled.
How to use
To activate chain harvesting, crouch (sneak) while using the appropriate tool on supported blocks. The following combinations trigger specific harvesting actions:
| Tool | Target Block | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Axe | Logs, stems, wood | Fells entire connected trees including branches linked through leaves. |
| Pickaxe | Ores and glowstone | Mines entire ore veins at once (deepslate and normal ores combined). |
| Shears | Leaves | Breaks all connected leaves of the same type. |
| Hoe | Nether wart blocks and shroomlight | Clears entire nether canopies of the targeted type. |
| Hoe | Mature crops | Harvests an area of crops and auto-replants if seeds are available. |
| Hoe | Sugar cane and bamboo | Harvests whole columns and adjacent ones, leaving base blocks intact to allow regrowth. |
Releasing the sneak button or switching tools will revert to normal block breaking behavior.
Access the settings menu in two ways:
- Without cheats: Use the provided SH Config stick (received on world join) by sneaking and using it. If lost, rename any stick to “SH Config” using an anvil.
- With cheats enabled: Enter the command
/scriptevent sh:menuin chat.
Settings let you toggle features like sneak requirement, auto-replanting, tool swapping, and more. Configuration is saved per world and compatible with Realms.
Requirements / Compatibility
- Minecraft Bedrock Edition version 1.21.50 or higher.
- Not compatible with Java Edition.
Key features
- Vanilla-compatible enchantments: Fortune and Silk Touch function exactly as in vanilla. Fortune increases drops on applicable ores, while Silk Touch disables the chain harvest effect for single-block breaks.
- Enforces tool tiers: You must have the correct tool level to receive drops (e.g., wooden pickaxes do not drop iron ore).
- Supports unbreaking enchantments and handles ore XP drops naturally.
- Supports copper tools for axe, pickaxe, and hoe.
- Tree replanting: Automatically replants saplings after felling trees, including all four saplings for 2×2 mega trees such as spruce and jungle variants.
- Sugar cane and bamboo harvesting: Harvests entire columns plus nearby ones, leaving the bottom block to regrow. Fortune boost for sugar cane is optional and off by default.
- Crop harvesting: Harvests areas of fully grown crops (wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, nether wart) with auto-replanting if seeds are available. Area size depends on hoe tier and can be expanded with Efficiency enchantments.
- Auto tool swap: When your tool breaks mid-harvest, a backup tool of the same or higher tier is automatically equipped from your inventory, allowing uninterrupted harvesting.
Additional details
Fortune enchantment drops follow vanilla probabilities precisely. For example:
| Fortune Level | Drop Range for Single-Drop Ores |
|---|---|
| None | 1 |
| Fortune I | 1 to 2 |
| Fortune II | 1 to 3 |
| Fortune III | 1 to 4 |
Copper, redstone, lapis, and glowstone behave according to their standard vanilla mechanics. Ancient debris ignores Fortune as expected.
Crop harvest area sizes by hoe tier are:
| Hoe Tier | Harvest Area |
|---|---|
| Wood or Stone | 3 blocks in a line |
| Copper, Iron, or Gold | 6 blocks in a line |
| Diamond or Netherite | 3×3 square |
| Diamond or Netherite with Efficiency | 5×5 square |
Player-placed leaves and Adventure mode restrictions are respected, ensuring no disruption to gameplay balance.
