Guard Villagers introduces a new way for villagers to defend themselves by training armed and armored guards ready to protect their village. This addon adapts a popular Java mod for Minecraft Bedrock, enhancing village defense with specialized combatant villagers. Join forces with these guards to keep your village safe from monsters and hostile mobs.
Key Features
Guards are specially equipped villagers armed with swords, axes, crossbows, and shields. They wear light armor and are trained to fight threats such as monsters and illagers. Villages spawn guards in squads based on their size, ensuring protection even if the iron golem falls.
Guards can pick up better weapons, shields, and armor dropped nearby to improve their combat effectiveness.
Types of Guards
- Melee Guard: Armed with swords or axes, they engage enemies up close.
- Ranged Guard: Equipped with crossbows for long-distance attacks.
- Juggernaut: Heavily armored melee guards carrying diamond swords or tridents. They represent the heavy hitters of the guard squad.
- Medic: Villagers with cleric traits who support allies by throwing regeneration potions.

How to Recruit Guards
- To recruit a melee guard, give an iron sword to a weaponsmith villager.
- To recruit a ranged guard, give a crossbow to a fletcher villager.
- To create a juggernaut, give a trident or diamond sword to an existing melee guard.
- To recruit a medic, give a redstone block to a cleric villager.
Guards can also be hired by giving them emeralds. Be careful not to attack guards, as they will defend themselves fiercely once enlisted in the village army.
Installation / Usage
Install this addon in your Minecraft Bedrock Edition to enhance village defense. Once installed, spawn or find villages and observe the new guard villagers spawned according to village size. Recruit additional guards by interacting with the appropriate villagers using the specified items.
Notes
Guards are emotionally attached to their village and will retaliate if attacked, especially when near other guards. This addon is adapted for Bedrock Edition and some features may vary due to platform limitations.
