Better WayStones

Better WayStones is a balanced and feature-packed waystone addon for Minecraft Bedrock Edition designed for survival gameplay. It allows players to craft, place, and teleport between waypoints with ease, supporting private, public, and team teleportation along with XP costs and upgrade discounts. This addon integrates seamlessly into multiplayer worlds and offers natural waystone generation across dimensions.

Installation

1. Download the BetterWayStones.mcaddon file and open it to install.
2. Enable both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack for your world in the World Settings.

How to Use

Craft waystones using the specified materials, place them, and interact by right-clicking to access teleport options. Teleportation is available between discovered waystones without the need for commands or cheats. You can set waystones as private, public, or team-only to manage visibility and access.

Key Features

• Discovery System: Public waystones appear on your list only after you approach within 8 blocks, encouraging exploration.
• Visibility Modes: Choose between Private, Public, or Team-only waystones using vanilla scoreboard tags, requiring no additional mods.
• Favorites and Search: Pin favorite waystones, filter by categories, and search by name with live results for quick access.
• XP Costs and Discounts: Teleportation costs experience points based on distance, with owners able to invest valuable blocks to reduce or eliminate these costs.
• Portable Teleport Items: Craft Warpstones for multiple teleports to your last waystone and Return Scrolls for single-use returns to your last teleport origin.
• Natural Generation: Waystones spawn naturally across the Overworld, Nether, and End, appearing in relevant biomes and pre-set as public.
• Admin Panel: Manage all waystones, teleport players, delete waystones, grant discoveries, and configure settings using the in-game command /scriptevent bws:admin.

Crafting Recipes

• Waystone Block: Combine Crying Obsidian (corners), Amethyst Shards (edges), and a Lodestone (center). Unlocks after obtaining an Ender Pearl.
• Warpstone: Crafted from 4 Amethyst Shards, Paper, and an Ender Pearl. Provides 16 uses with a 60-second cooldown, teleporting you to your last used waystone.
• Return Scroll (x4): Made with 8 Paper, an Ender Pearl, and an Amethyst Shard. Single-use item that returns you to your previous teleport location.

XP Costs and Upgrade Tiers

Teleportation within the same dimension costs 1 XP level per 700 blocks traveled, capped at 3 levels. Cross-dimensional teleportation costs a flat 3 XP levels. Players in Creative mode bypass these costs. Upgrading waystones with Iron, Diamond, or Netherite blocks grants discounts and refunds previous investments. Breaking a waystone returns all invested blocks.
