How to Install Textures in Minecraft PE on Android?
Some Minecraft Pocket Edition players might remember the days when installing textures required using an app called BlockLauncher. The process wasn’t easy, but those days are gone! Now, installing textures in Minecraft PE is much simpler. Different texture formats require different steps. Let’s break it down:
.MCPack
Installing textures via the .MCPack format is the easiest and fastest. Here’s how to do it:
- Download the texture pack in .mcpack format.
- Find the downloaded file on your phone.
- On some devices, you can open the .mcpack file directly, but this doesn’t always work.
- If it doesn’t open, download a File Manager app from Google Play.
- Open the File Manager, locate the downloaded file, and activate it.
- The texture pack will automatically install in Minecraft PE.
- Apply the texture pack in the world settings or global settings.
- Done!
.ZIP and .RAR
If you have trouble with the .mcpack format, you can use ZIP or RAR archives, which are the second most popular texture formats. Here’s what to do:
- Download the texture pack in ZIP or RAR format.
- Use your phone’s file explorer or download a File Manager (we recommend File Manager from Google Play).
- Open the file manager and find the downloaded ZIP or RAR archive.
- Select the archive, tap “More” -> “Extract”, and unpack the files to any location.
- You should now see a folder containing the extracted files.
- Copy the folder by long-pressing it and selecting “Copy.”
- Open /games/com.mojang/ on your phone.
- Go to the resource_packs folder (or create it if it doesn’t exist).
- Paste the copied folder into the resource_packs folder.
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition, go to “Settings” -> “Global Resources,” and activate the texture pack.
- Done!
How to Install Shaders?
Shaders are similar to textures but focus on changing the game’s graphics. The steps for installing shaders are the same as for textures, so simply follow the instructions above.
