Distant Horizons
7.08.2026
Distant Horizons [Unofficial Port] enhances Minecraft Bedrock by reducing lag when using extended render distances. It achieves this by lowering the resolution of distant textures, allowing smoother gameplay on lower-end devices without altering the game’s render distance settings.
Installation / How to Use
To install this resource pack, simply add it to your Minecraft Bedrock resource packs folder and activate it from the in-game settings menu under Resource Packs. No game patching or additional modifications are necessary. Once enabled, you can increase your render distance as usual; the pack will optimize distant textures automatically to improve performance.
Requirements / Compatibility
This pack is designed for Minecraft Bedrock Edition and does not require any external patches or mods. It is compatible with most versions supporting resource packs but is especially useful for players on devices with limited hardware capabilities, such as low-end PCs and mobile devices.
Key Features
- Optimizes distant textures by downscaling them to reduce lag.
- Allows higher render distances without the typical performance drop.
- Fully self-contained; no need for external patches or game modifications.
- Improves gameplay smoothness on low-tier hardware.
Notes
Unlike the original Java Edition mod, this port does not extend the render distance limit itself. Instead, it focuses on performance optimization by lowering texture resolution at far distances. This means you will not see new chunks beyond the game’s standard maximum render distance, but the game will run more smoothly at higher settings.
