Cavern Calamity (Cave Update V2) revitalizes the underground experience by introducing an array of new cave biomes, unique ores, weapons, and expanded cave systems. Explore diverse subterranean environments, craft powerful new tools, and face challenging mobs as you delve deeper beneath the surface.
Key Features
New Cave Biomes
Discover 11 distinct underground biomes, each with unique characteristics and resources:
- Jasper Caves: Home to Jasper, a red variant of amethyst, and the Jasper Kunai weapon.

- Kyanite Caves: Contains blue Kyanite, another amethyst variant, with the Kyanite Kunai weapon.

- Amethyst Caves: Features classic amethyst combined with Calcite formations.

- Slimy Sewers: Rich in slime blocks, ideal for gathering slime quickly.

- Glowing Mushroom Caves: Located beneath mushroom islands, these caves provide a tranquil setting.

- Glimmering Lush Caves: Packed with glowing plants and minimal hostile mob spawns.

- Spider Caves: Abundant with cobwebs and silk, but beware of cave spiders and explosive Spider Eggs.

- Lichen Caves: Filled with glow lichen creating a luminous environment.

- Aether Caves: A crystal-filled biome with minimal mob spawns and the introduction of the Pixie mob.

- Horrid Caves: Characterized by spore blocks and the hostile Hallow mob.

- Under Forest: Features underground pale oak vegetation and the absence of lava.

Additional biomes include:
- Sodalite Caves: Contains blue sodalite stone and Energized Sodalite, source of crafting fragments.

- Wilted Garden: A withered variant of lush caves, inhabited by wither skeletons and themed decor.

- Hotsprings Biome: Found near deserts and mesas, featuring lava, blackstone, and overworld Magma Cubes.

- Hotsprings Caves: Lava-filled caves with unique features.

- Hyperion Forest and Caves: Dominated by massive trees with extensive root systems underground.


New Weapons and Tools
Two new weapon types are introduced:
- Kunai: Inexpensive throwable weapons with quick usage.
- Greatswords: Powerful melee weapons that inflict blindness and slowness on targets but apply a strong weakness effect to the wielder unless enchanted with Sharpness.
New Toolsets and Materials
- Titanium: Comparable to iron in damage and mining speed, with durability exceeding diamond. Found in the Stone Layer.

- Kyanite: Similar to diamond in stats but less durable than iron, found in Kyanite Caves and the Heavenly Tower.

- Cobalt: Iron-level tools with Crushing ability enhancing effectiveness against modded blocks, located in the Deepslate Layer.

- Aetherium: Slightly less durable than diamond with reduced armor defense, found in Aetherium Caves.

- Rose Gold: Armor comparable to iron; tools mine at gold speed but with higher durability. Crafted from Rose Gold Alloy.

- Staballoy: Similar to titanium but with superior durability, crafted from Staballoy Alloy.

- Jasper: Forged in the Soul Forge, offers defense stronger than Netherite but with lower durability. Obtained from Jasper Caves and Heavenly Tower.

- Platinum: Enhanced titanium tools with doubled durability and improved defense, found in the Deepslate Layer.

- Palladium: The second-strongest toolset, surpassing Netherite, with debris located below Y=55.

- Exodium: The ultimate unbreakable toolset with exceptional stats, found in the Wilted Garden. Forging template dropped by the Floral Amalgam boss.

Additional Ores
- Sulfur: Stone-layer exclusive ore used to simplify Gunpowder crafting and create colorful smokebombs and fireworks.

- Onyx Quartz: A black variant of Nether Quartz, found exclusively in the Stone Layer.

- Uranium: Deepslate Layer ore used for Rad Powder, Staballoy Alloy components, decorative blocks, and enhancing copper and iron golems. The ore and blocks emit radiation damage unless protected by Rad Away Bands.

Miscellaneous Items
- Silk Balls: Throwable items that spawn cobwebs on mobs; dropped by spiders.
- Flint Caltrop: Throwable spikes that inflict damage on contact.
- Golden Minecart: Moves ten times faster than standard minecarts but may detach from rails.
- Energized Mining Helmet: Provides light while mining.
- Bomb: Throwable explosive device.
- Musical Instruments: Play various sounds.
- Magnet and Magnet Tools: Attract nearby items or items on block break.
- Geodes: Throwable items that break to yield fragments usable in stone cutting for additional ores.
- Vaces: Naturally spawning mini chests scattered throughout the world.
Potions
- Mining Potion: Grants Haste I for 90 seconds and Night Vision for 2 minutes; brewed with Golden Berries.
- Aether Potion: Provides Speed I for 90 seconds and Slow Falling for 2 minutes; brewed with Aether Fruit.
- Mustard Gas: Instantly kills those who consume it; brewed with Sulfur. Can be crafted into a splash potion damaging nearby entities.
Structures
- Buried Church: Home to immortal Weeping Angels that require constant eye contact to avoid attack.

- Tower of Crystals: Spans from bedrock to Y=40, containing loot and monster spawners on each floor.

- Ruins: Destroyed underground buildings scattered throughout the world.

- Labyrinth: Maze-like structure filled with spawners and chests.

- Undead Mineshaft: Infested with enhanced hostile mobs and abundant loot.

- Underground Outpost: Illager base featuring a block-breaking illager and a tamable light-emitting Allay variant.

- Ancient Forge: Location of the Soul Forge used for endgame crafting.

- Sword Shrine: Rare surface structure with a one-block gap revealing a sword—iron, wooden, or the special Hero’s Sword with unique abilities.

Mobs
- Mimic: Chest-like creature attacking similarly to slimes; reverts to chest form after 2 minutes without targets. Can be collected with Silk Touch.

- Hallow: Hostile melee mob that delivers heavy damage and causes blindness.

- Pixie: Tamable, passive flying mobs that grant Speed or Slow Falling depending on their color; tamed with Aether Fruit.
- Molten: Zombie variant spawning in lava, leaving a trail of fire when moving outside lava.
- Gem Crawlers: Passive mobs that flee from all entities and drop the ore they carry upon death.
- Creeder: Hybrid mob combining traits of spiders and creepers.
- Light Allay: Tameable with Glow Berries, emits light and found in Underground Outposts.
- Sodalite Energizer: Hostile mob firing blue projectiles at players.
- Mineologer: Vindicator-like mob capable of breaking blocks.
Boss Encounter
Floral Amalgam: A challenging boss with attacks including spore summoning, damaging vine eruptions, and rapid dashes. Defeating it rewards the Exodium Forging Template. It is summoned using the Genesis Seed obtained rarely from wither skeletons, plantable only on Withered Moss below Y=0.
