Steam & Gears

Steam & Gears brings the innovative Create mod mechanics to Minecraft Bedrock Edition, allowing players to build complex kinetic networks and automate their worlds with steam power. This addon integrates seamlessly using the Script API, requiring no experimental settings, and offers detailed systems for rotation, fluid handling, and automation.

Key Features

Kinetic System

Construct rotational networks using shafts, cogwheels, large cogwheels, and gearboxes. Each component has specific RPM and Stress Unit (SU) values—exceed these limits and your system will halt. Gear ratios (2:1) between small and large cogwheels enable balancing speed and torque.

• Shaft: Transfers rotation along one axis.
• Cogwheel: Connects perpendicular shafts and transmits rotation.
• Large Cogwheel: A 3×3 cogwheel with a 2:1 gear ratio compared to small cogwheels.
• Gearbox: Redirects rotation between horizontal and vertical directions.
• Clutch: Redstone-controlled device to disconnect parts of your kinetic network.

Power Sources

• Hand Crank: Provides manual power at 32 RPM, ideal for early gameplay.
• Water Wheel: Generates up to 16 RPM when placed beside flowing water.
• Steam Engine: A 3-block multiblock structure that converts steam into rotation, reaching up to 96 RPM when superheated.

Fluid System

Manage fluids with an extensive network of pipes and tanks:

• Fluid Tank: Multiblock tanks ranging from 1×1 to 3×3 bases and up to 32 blocks tall; stores Water, Lava, Milk, and Steam.
• Fluid Pipe: Directional pipes with custom hitboxes matching their visuals for precise fluid flow.
• Fluid Pump: Moves fluids through pipes, powered by RPM.

Heat water tanks using the Blaze Burner to produce steam, which fuels the Steam Engine.

Encased Fan & Processing

The Encased Fan generates airflow that moves entities and processes items. Different blocks placed in the airflow path enable various processing effects:

• Washing (water): Cleans ores, dyes wool, creates concrete, and more.
• Smoking (fire/campfire): Cooks food items.
• Blasting (lava/heated blaze burner): Smelts ores and glass.
• Haunting (soul fire): Transforms items using soul energy.

Over 100 processing recipes are included. The airflow distance varies with RPM, spanning 4 to 20 blocks.

Mechanical Arm

This automated arm transfers items between nearby containers such as chests, barrels, hoppers, furnaces, shulker boxes, and vaults. Configure input and output points within a 10-block range using the Wrench.

Blaze Burner

A dynamic machine featuring an animated blaze entity that tracks nearby players. Feed it fuel like blaze rods, coal, or lava buckets to increase its heat level:

• Passive: No fuel, ambient state.
• Heated: Displays red fire particles; enables blasting through the fan.
• Superheated: Displays blue fire particles; maximizes steam production.

Vault

Multiblock storage units from 1x1x3 up to 3x3x9 with 20 inventory slots per block.

Wrench

A vital tool for configuring machines, selecting Mechanical Arm targets, and managing your factory setup.

Requirements / Compatibility

• Minecraft Bedrock Edition version 1.26.0 or newer.
• No experimental toggles needed.

Installation

1. Download the .mcaddon file.
2. Open it with Minecraft to automatically import both the Behavior and Resource Packs.
3. Apply both packs to your world settings.
4. If prompted, enable the “Script Eval” capability.
