DoubleHands – Functional Offhand like Java edition

DoubleHands enhances Minecraft Bedrock Edition by introducing a fully functional offhand system similar to Java Edition. This addon allows players to equip and use items in their offhand, enabling block placement and item usage alongside the main hand. Additionally, it features dynamic lighting that emits light from any emissive item held in the offhand.

Installation

Import the provided .mcpack file into your Minecraft Bedrock Edition and activate it in your world settings. No experimental features need to be enabled for this addon to function.

How to Use

To transfer an item to your offhand, quickly double-sneak if using a keyboard or controller, or perform the “over there” emote on touch devices. When holding a tool or nothing in your main hand, you can place blocks or use most items from the offhand, replicating the Java Edition behavior.

Requirements / Compatibility

This addon works with Minecraft Bedrock Edition version 1.21.120 and later. It does not rely on experimental features or modify player files, ensuring broad compatibility with other addons. Achievements remain enabled while using this addon.

Notes / Limitations

• Placing blocks from the offhand near item frames may cause the frames to break.
• Flower pots can sometimes be placed mid-air due to engine limitations.
• Eating food directly from the offhand is not supported.
• Fireworks launched from the offhand do not reflect varying flight durations; all provide the same boost.
• Blocks held in the offhand appear slightly smaller in size but this does not affect functionality.
